What is coaching

In the fast-paced, distracting and busy life we are leading nowadays, we hardly find time to stop and reflect profoundly about our past, present and future; let alone for strategizing, setting goals and planning.

We are in such a hurry that we no longer listen to our emotions, feelings and that inner voice sometimes calling, crying or doing whatever is possible to warn us against the damage we are unconsciously causing to ourselves.

Some go even further. They manage to silence that voice once and forever and lock it into a secret safe until the unexpected happens: they go through an unbearably painful but also awakening moment such bankruptcy, heart attack, or a loss of someone special. Only then, do they start changing the course of their lives.

Lao Tzu the Chinese Philosopher once said, “At the center of your being you have the answer. You know who you are and you know what you want.”

And that’s exactly what coaching is all about. It creates a safe, nonjudgmental and empathetic communication space for a client to discover for the first time some hidden parts of his personality, connect to his soul, and design his own firm, unshakable and empowering truth that provides him with the necessary drive to overcome his fears.

The principle is simple: as full of imperfections as we may seem, we human beings are, in fact, complete.  We have all that it takes to be happy and successful. We don’t need to go searching so far to find our own answers, they are within us.

Many studies prove the effectiveness of coaching such as an enlightening study sponsored by the International Coaching Federation and conducted by the prestigious consulting business PricewaterhouseCoopers. It shows that coaching drastically improves people’s self-confidence, relationships, communications skills and work performance among many other important things
