What is coaching

Nowadays, we are becoming more and more addicted to this fast-paced, perplexing, and busy lifestyle. This leaves us with no time for reflecting on our life choices, let alone strategizing, setting goals, and planning. We are constantly in such a hurry that we no longer observe and acknowledge our feelings. We tend to ignore that inner voice that advises us against the self-destructive actions we unconsciously do. Some of us go even further to shut that voice down completely. This is why we need coaching in our lives.

The Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu, once said, “At the center of your being, you have the answer. You know who you are, and you know what you want.” And that’s what coaching is all about. It creates a non-judgmental, empathic, and communicative environment. It helps clients discover the hidden parts of their personalities, connect with their souls, and unravel the truth that can push them to overcome their fears and progress toward their goals.

The principle is simple: as full of imperfections as we may seem, we human beings are, in fact, complete. We have all that it takes to be happy and successful. We don’t need to go searching so far to find our answers because they are within us. Coaching puts us on the right path, giving us the opportunity to gain control over our lives and careers.

Many studies prove the effectiveness of coaching, such as the study conducted by the prestigious consulting business PricewaterhouseCoopers and sponsored by the ICF. It shows that those who hired coaches drastically improved, among many other things, their self-confidence, relationships, communication skills, and work performance. Coaching offers a powerful development opportunity for people who are willing to achieve a specific personal or professional goal by providing them with the necessary skills they need.
